CREW LEAD

 

 

Job Summary:
The crew lead (Level 3) position is a leader of a crew and duties include all aspects of tower work, advanced training requirements, and leadership characteristics. The Level 3 position requires the comprehension and advanced use of varying tools and test equipment. This individual will be responsible for ensuring jobsite safety of all team members and others in close proximity to our working environment. In addition, the employee will be required to pass several advanced safety and knowledge-based courses applicable to the position.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Competent at Assessing Site/Job

  2. Ensure Safety Compliance of Self and others on the Crew (filing out JHA and PPE forms for every job)

  3. Capstan/Cathead Certifications

  4. Passive Intermodulation Certification (PIM)

  5. Competent Level 3 Rigger

  6. Good Housekeeping

  7. Responsible for All Aspects for Job

  8. Quality Contol

  9. NOC Notifications

  10. Tower Inspections, to include the use of TPT software and Theodlite

  11. Tensionometer Use

  12. Completed Close-Outs within 24 Hours of Job Completion

Required Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills:

  1. Successful completion of all Level 1 & 2 Requirements

  2. Complete Varying Knowledlge-Based Courses:

    • Differing Technologies

    • RF Knowledge

    • Antenna Knowledge

    • Impedance Knowledge

    • Frequency Use

    • TMA & CBC Knowledge

    • Bias Injectors

  3. Manager recommendation

  4. Job requires frequent light to medium lifting (10-50lbs) and occasional heavy to very heavy lifting (> 50 lbs) (per document 37.02 U.S. Department of Labor Physical Demand Characteristics of Work).

  5. Complete OSHA 30 Course

  6. Competent Multi-Meter Use

  7. Proficient at reading Site Drawings/Blueprints

  8. Self-Initiative

  9. Complete Leadership Training Courses

  10. Positive Evaluation (top 25%)

Measures of Success:

  • Satisfactory knowledge/completion of all key responsibilities for position.

  • Successful completion of Anritsu/PIM/Level 3 Rigger Courses

  • Successful completion of OSHA 30 Course

  • Thorough knowledge of the following areas, applicable to telecommunications:

    • Varying Technologies

    • RF Knowledge

    • Antenna Knowledge

    • Frequency Use

    • Impedance Knowledge

    • TMA & CBC Knowledge

  • Successful Completion of Leadership Training Courses

  • The individual must receive a positive evaluation by his/her manager (top 25%)

Process for Performance Review:

  • Performance reviews will be written

  • Performance reviews will be administered annually on employees date of hire anniversary

  • A written copy will be given to employee

  • An employee tech level guide will be discussed during each evaluation, outlining the requirements for advancement to differing tech levels and associated pay rates.
